DuraWattle® installed in Sacramento holds up to large California storm.
As you may have heard, California has been getting a good soak this month. We are located in Sacramento, and we have received over 5 inches of rainfall in just the past couple weeks. We decided to make lemonade out of lemons and use this opportunity to document our DuraWattle’s® ability to handle storm events.
8 Year Old DuraWattle®: A REALLY Long Lasting BMP
First, we went over to a local installation of our DuraWattle® in Natomas. That particular area of Sacramento has been under a building moratorium since 2008 and the DuraWattle® installed in 2007 to prepare for home building is still there. Even after being installed for a year in Fresno in 2006, then moved and reinstalled here in Sacramento, the DuraWattle® still holds up perfectly. DuraWattle® Hard Surface Installation: Customer Reaction
After we finished splashing around in the puddles in Natomas, we took the camera to a Walmart site run by Shames Construction in South Sacramento. They were using the DuraWattle® as perimeter control with the hard surface application method. Terry Sigler, a Shames Construction representative that installed the DuraWattle®, was more than happy to say a few words:
“I have nothing but good things to say about it. I think it’s great. It seems like it’s going to be durable, reusable, and for the most part a simple install.”
When asked how the DuraWattle® handled the recent storm event, Terry said this:
“Oh, fantastic! It filtered! I mean, you can see we’ve got our stuff trapped inside of our site, water flowed through and out to our [drain inlets]… everything worked great!”
