December 2014

Flashback to December 2006, when a new home building operation was started in Sacramento, CA and the DuraWattle was installed as perimeter control.

A few short months later, a building moratorium was placed in that region because of a levee that needed repair. This halted all work on this project and our DuraWattle was left installed and lonely.

In December of 2014, we decided it was high time to visit our abandoned wattle and document how it behaved after so many years. Just as we suspected, we don’t call it the DURAwattle for nothing.

Our iconic red line in the fabric had faded to gray, but the DuraWattle was still going strong and in fair condition.

We were prepared with a camera the next time a storm came through the area (rare, for California).  We were able to capture the 8-year-old DuraWattle in action. Watch our video and see for yourself!
